THE CONTEXT
With its founding dating back to 1988, Wine Express was ready for a modern rebrand. The existing logo, colors, and overall brand voice felt outdated, failing to embody the modern look and feel the brand desired. While operating as the in-house creative lead for Wine Express I developed a new brand identity that immediately conveyed sophistication, expertise, trust, and a friendly tone.
THE APPROACH
The overarching goal was to design a brand that was both modern and timeless. We focused on ensuring the new identity would be functional across all marketing platforms and easy for the internal team to manage. To embody the core characteristic of ‘your trusted wine partner,’ we developed a sophisticated logo and color palette. Since the primary audience includes older customers, we prioritized clear and easily legible typography for every asset. Every element served a specific, strategic purpose.
THE OUTCOME
The comprehensive rebrand delivered a complete Brand Identity package, including a new logo family, color palette, typography, patterns, photography direction, and brand voice that successfully evoked trust, reliability, and approachability. This new identity was subsequently rolled out across a new website design, all digital assets (email and social), new seasonal and evergreen photography, and print collateral.
